Middlebelt and Ibo Unity to Secure Aso Rock

While I have had cause to praise Rotimi's successful nomination as minister recently, I must retract and rephrase my reaction to the rumored zoning of the SSG position to the east with Onu as the representative of the east a few months ago.

I must state that I am truly happy that Onu who campaigned for a senate seat in old imo state under NPN went on to win the abia governorship only to be ousted by The return of Abacha is getting his due. After Abacha He went on to later come second in the race for a national seat of a party, (I am over 40 and in Yankee so I am allowed to forget).

He later became the National Chairman of All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) with PMB as its presidential candidate, so despite my premature and tribal rant against his SSG proposed nomination he has paid his dues up the rank and file and was justly and honorably rewarded by PMB, he is also a first class graduate and a PhD holder so he might be the most qualified minister on the roster so I bow for the man and congratulate him.

My gripe as of today is that he merits this appointment by virtue of his personal achievement and contribution to chanji and the long-awaited enthronement of PMB and was individually rewarded and it should not be confused as a reward to his region.

A region that has been criminally neglected and starved of development and barren of federal presence or jobs despite the so-called appointment of its sons to federally irrelevant ministries.

Now while he is a leader from the east in many respects, it is time for the Ibos as a whole to go into the opposition and remain there and be joined by the middle-belt as it is time for the power to rotate to the east and or to Benue state by hook or by crook more so when you take into account the way the presidency has rotated amongst the geo-political zones in the past.

It is my contention that unless the east and the middle-belt go into the vocal opposition they are fated to lose the presidency again to NW/NE or to Kwara mysteriously now in the same grouping as the middle-belt currently.

I have hugged a transformer after PDP's loss and will live with the people choice, PMB the general I wish I could have been.

But it is time for the Ibo and the minorities and majority minorities to go into the vocal opposition and remain there to ensure through strenuous reasoning for the power to shift to those two zones.

The east did not vote for the PDP by mistake and should stand its ground on this issue. I call on the well-fed people of the food basket Middlebelt to break and sever old bonds and join the east/ south south to ensure a power shift to either region with the strongest candidate and not let power again remain in old hands.

There is nobility in being In the opposition and the kuli kuli and soaked garri we will all soak is not so much worse than our current fare.

Join the PDP or whatever opposition party you can find, because it cannot go back to the status quo after this round come 2019 if PMB decides not to seek re-election.
