THE RISE OF IGBO NATIONALISM AND MILITARISM

Look at the flags and stage befitting a governor or head of state. 

Call it BIAFRAUD, call it whatever you like, but there is no discounting the passions this leader has awoken in Igbo people. 

He has made it cool to be an Igbo nationalist and patriot, a distinct and unique identity that has nothing to do with Nigeria. 

What people don't understand is that Kanu (and his IPOB) is the man of the moment but this agitation is greater than him, he is merely a conduit pipe for the expression for the dream of a sovereign indigenous republic, that Igbo people experienced for 30 months. No other tribe in Nigeria has experienced independence from Nigeria. 

Only the most astute and sensitive members of Nigeria realize the magnitude of this agitation. Kanu is winning the hearts and minds of grassroots Igbos and the mental separation from Nigeria is growing and it is something no force of arms can eradicate. 

The problem with Nigeria leaders and the unjust marginalization political system the operate is the failure to realize that Nigeria is an amalgamation of warrior nation states not tribes and a non equitable power sharing system and lopsided developments feeds the embers for indigenous republics. 

It started with Biafra, then Ijaw and Ogoni, then Boko Harem which has declared its Islamic republic and Biafra is seeing a resurrection that will eventually embolden other minority tribes to begin searching for political alternatives. 

America once made a prediction. That Nigeria would disintegrate in a couple of years and it is hard to disagree with them if the current trend continues. 

If Nigeria does not restructure itself it will disintegrate in less than 20 years, the march towards separation has began at the spiritual and mental level.

Nnamdi Kanu - The last Igbo Griot

What has become of Ndigbo Bekonu?
