Lagos Belongs to Nigerians
Recently there have been accounts of the Lagos State government or more accurately several disgruntled and envious Yoruba elements trying to force Igbo people out of Lagos by bulldozing their stores and closing down businesses like the trade fair complex in Lagos recently.
Until Nigeria breaks and Biafra is declared every Igbo man should stand where they are and buy their property anywhere the chose, especially in Lagos.
The argument by some racists Yoruba that we let you come into our land and we accommodate and give you everything and allowed you prosper is all rubbish and baseless.
As an Igbo man or a Nigerian try securing accommodation in Lagos, you will encounter Yoruba landlords who are making a killing renting out to Nigerians doing business in Lagos and charging them the highest rents in Nigeria.
Some of these landlords are so greedy they force Nigerians to pay 3 years rent in advance besides they security deposit the collect which sometimes is either non refundable or that you rarely get back.
These transactions and many others have made millions of Yoruba's enormously prosperous from Nigerians and particularly by Igbo people in their midst in Lagos. Igbo traders also have to pay rent for the sheds in they various markets dotted around Lagos to do business. Lagos state collects taxes from all these traders and millions of Igbo’s and other Nigerians doing business as well.
For the record, Never in the history of Nigeria have Igbo’s been given anything for free from Kafanchan to Sambisa forest, they have to pay and if they can’t the return back home, I repeat nothing is given to Igbo for free.
Who are these Yoruba people selling land and properties to the highest bidding Igbo’s anyway did anyone force them to sell and collect and bank the millions they collected.
Igbo’s and Nigerians are not in Lagos because of Yoruba hospitality they are there because Nigeria’s money was buried and used to build Lagos and besides Abuja is they one place all Nigerians migrate to in search of jobs.
It is doubtful that Igbo people own the majority of commercial and revenue generating capital real estate in Lagos, I believe they are still owned by some Yoruba but particularly by Northerners like Danjuma and Dangote and others.
Customs and exercise in Lagos has always been dominated by northerners and shipping and clearing has always been dominated by Atiku and other northern business men like him.
Nigeria fought a 30 month civil war to keep Igbo people as part of Nigeria and Yoruba war commanders like Adekunle and Obasanjo and Akinrinade were at the forefront fighting for one Nigeria so it is disingenuous to force Igbo’s out of anywhere in Nigeria, especially Lagos, the matter was settled by war.
Until Nigeria allows Biafra to be declared they must accept the progressive business adventurism of Igbo merchants and settlers and if prosperity returns to the east and it is made conducive for business by the government by developing its ports for accelerated operations nothing stops Yoruba business men from buying up lands and properties in Igbo land either directly or through proxies if you believe their argument that Igbo people do not sell their lands to foreigners.
Nigerians particularly Igbo people should stand their ground and take pictures of their properties and hold unto their CofO and go to court and fight any unconstitutional seizures of their properties because it is their right as Nigerians in one Nigeria.
Nigerians particularly Ndigbo purchased those properties legally without bloodshed unlike Fulani herdsmen seizing land and killing Yoruba people themselves over grazing land indiscriminately.
Very soon the minority of racist Yoruba causing this unrest will be overwhelmed by Nigerians.
We die here. Don’t mind them, if Yoruba want to own their Lagos so bad in one Nigeria let them buy these back at market rates, they can afford it and it is just another business transaction and if they make an offer that cannot be refused it will not be refused.
Nonsense and ingredients
